Let's face it, life can be full of deadlines, frustrations and so many demands. If you allow it, you may find yourself in 'stress overload' with more struggles than strut. Don't let stress hijack your life. Your body and mind pay the price. I'd like to share a few of my favorite stress reducers...
1- Get up just fifteen minutes earlier in the morning. This has always been so hard for me - but those inevitable morning mishaps aren't nearly as stressful when I don't hit the snooze button.
2- Prepare for your day the evening before. Make lunches, select what you plan to wear, pack your handbag and briefcase. Do as much as you can the night before.
3- Organize! A place for everything and everything in it's place. Losing and looking is stressful. Make changes and take control.
4- Don't put up with things that aggravate you or things that don't work properly - a zipper, windshield wipers, leaks, whatever- get it fixed or get new ones.
5- Turn your phone off. Want to sleep, read, watch a movie or get some work done without being interrupted. Temporarily disconnect... I promise - you will be so surprised!
6- Allow time everyday for privacy, quiet and thinking.
7- Pay attention when making friendships. Build your circle of friends with people who share the same beliefs and desires as you. If you hate politics, hanging out with someone who has 15 political bumper stickers on their vehicle may not be a good choice...
8- Talk out your problems with a friend or counselor. It helps to relieve confusion and stress.
9- Looking good makes you feel better.
10- Stop talking negatively about yourself - I'm too fat, too old, too tired, etc.
Relax your standards. The world will not end if the grass doesn't get mowed this weekend.
Take care, and have some fun -
