Meet Becca

I am delighted to introduce our guest blogger Becca Luna Lindamood. For years Becca and I worked together at Millie Lewis. She worked in the office, and I taught classes. Becca was all girl, a prissy little thing, loving anything girly-girl, and always wearing heels, high heels.

At USC she majored fashion (and anything pink.) One day she came to work in head-to-toe athletic gear, complete with the ugliest sneakers I've ever seen. Totally surprised I asked her -"where are your heels?" .... she said - "I have fallen in love with nutrition, fitness, and, wellness and I've changed my major. I've turned in my high heels." - I don't think I've ever seen her in a pair since. Needless to say, I was one sad cookie ... no pun intended.

But I think you'll see when you read her blog she definately made the right decision, and I know you will love her lunchtime makeover.

Lunchtime Makeover

The brown paper bag! This lunch time staple has turned into a boring afterthought that has historically consisted of unhealthy peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and whatever else we can quickly toss into the bag! Well, I'm here to tell you that lunch time has just gotten a makeover! Throw those brown paper bags in the trash and let me introduce you to the chic way to do lunch! You can now be excited about lunchtime because you know that not only is your food healthy but it's delish! Here are my top 5 lunch items to include in your totally cool lunch bag!

1. Peanut butter and jelly roll ups

These cute rolls of goodness are not only healthier than your traditional PB and J but they are so much more fun! Just take a low carb tortilla and spread all natural peanut butter and an all fruit jelly all over the wrap! Then roll it up! You can cut it into little pinwheels or bag it whole!

2. Creamy Deli Meat Rolls

This high protein lunch item satisfies any sandwich lover without the high carbohydrates of the bread! Just take your favorite deli meat, spread a small amount of low fat cream cheese and roll up! Skewer with a toothpick to secure! Yummy!

3. Cucumber Sandwiches

In the mood for a sandwich! Try these cuties! Just slice a cucumber about 1/4 in thick keeping the peel on and put your favorite cheese and deli meat inside two slices of cucumber. Secure with a toothpick! So fun!!

4. Apple Stick Dippers

Such a fun side! Just take your favorite apple and slice into sticks! You choose your thickness! Squeeze a little lemon juice on them to prevent browning. Serve with a side of all natural peanut butter for dipping!

5. Sandwich Skewers

What could be more fun than a sandwich on a stick! Just take cubes of turkey or ham and add a cube of cheese and tomato and alternate each item on a wooden skewer!
